TM800HD warranty announcement from Technomate.

info@technomate.com, with your receivers serial number, your name and address, and if possible, a copy of your original purchase invoice. Technomate will then register your receiver as 'covered' in the event of anything happening to it within the next 13-14 months, as if it was bought new.]]>

Boot times

at first, i noticed that when using a motor, even if the dish was on the satellite your startup channel is on, it needs to sort itself out, its fully booted, but then looking for a signal, so i did this with the receivers setup as motorised via usals, and fixed single dish. Starting for a cold boot, no power at all, and start the clock as soon as power is applied. The channel i booted to was Sky Premiere HD and my dish was already pointed at 28.2E DM800 set as USALS 2 min 17.2 seconds
DM800 fixed dish 1 min 59.6 seconds TM800 set as USALS 2 min 8.7 seconds
TM800 fixed dish 1 min 49.1 seconds Vu+ Duo (VIX2.0) with only motorised dish connected 1 minute 45.3 seconds
Vu+ Duo (VIX2.0) with only fixed dish connected 1 minute 42.9 seconds i did each boot test twice, and while the motorised ones did have 0.1 seconds difference between them (ive listed the fastest times) the fixed dish times were the same each time Boot times for official sly HD receivers. This is starting from a cold boot, to powering up, the 'searching for listings' message to clear, and the actual picture of the 998 info channel to start clearing. New style PVR5 Amstrad DRX890 1 min 10.3 seconds
Thompson DSI8215 PVR4 1 min 33.4 seconds

Zap times

Vu+ Duo (VIX2.0) 2.2 seconds
No flash of any channel, just a black screen, then the channel clears DM800 (original , nabilosat BH v12) 3.7 seconds
This actually cleared the desired channel in 1.9 seconds, then paused from 2.8 seconds untill 3.7, where it was then watchable

TM800 (DWiQ 3/7 v2) 2.6 seconds

This was with FastZap enabled, it flashed the last channel as a frozen picture from 1.7 seconds, untill the desired channel cleared at 2.6 seconds. With FastZap disabled, it took 3.2 seconds of plain black screen for the channel to clear. I used the same channels on each receiver for this test, switching from Sky Action HD to Sky Family HD, and back, and did this a total of 5 times (10 channel changes) and timed each one, on each receiver, to allow for things like ECM times etc, but each time was the same for each receiver

Official Sky receiver times
New style PVR5 Amstrad DRX890 3.1 seconds
Thompson DSI8215 PVR4 3.9 seconds]]>

4-EPG search
5-Zap history browser
6-Updated Web Interface
7-digidudes customiser
8-digidudes advanced plugin

Allsats Andromeda TM800HD is here!

. Audio output and format switching integration of home-cinema and other hdmi audio devices.
. USB hub management – to mount all usb storage partitions on all usb devices when plugging hubs into the front and rear sockets. In addition to the normal /media/type-disk mountings the applet will mount all devices in a set at /STORAGE/. This can be a mix of partitioned and non-partitioned devices. No limit on number of concurrently mounted devices.
. Backup and restore channel setting feature to mounted storage devices on the box allows users to experiment with scanning satellites or downloading lists, then reverting to a stored channel and bouquet set. With an internal and external disk active you can use the applet to switch between two separate channel sets.
. Live channel set edit feature aimed at Linux only users without channel set management software or users who wish to undo changes in current enigma session. Enigma works with a channel set in memory and writes that back to disk under certain circumstances. This tool allows you to force a new set into memory from disk.
. CCcam management panel
. Swap management to create, activate, deactivate swapfiles. Can be used for session only or to patch the startup code for permanent action.
. KillScripts tool – for the brave who want to cut away the very last bit of fat from the image. This tool examines all python resource files and determines which can be safely removed. It works by comparing original python ('.py) file creation dates with the date of the optimised ('.pyc' ) file created by enigma when it detects a new script. Any '.py' with a matching '.pyc' of a later date is redundant. Never use the Cleanup routine after running KillScripts.
. Package installer for IPKG packages. Other improvements include
. Cleanup to remove unnecessary files , mainly foreign language files and duplicate resource libraries.
. Improved 'List' button in default skin, with up to 4 lines of descriptive text per recording
. On-screen progress reports during power-on sequence for those who prefer not to sit on the floor with their noses against the front display.
. Improved telnet window. User prompt only shows lowest level directory, with name printed in blue to maintain a full line of text for command input. Installation:
The image has been test loaded by both the direct 'image on usb' method and the Miniweb download from PC method. Based as it is on the IQ 15-6 code it has the same disk restrictions as that base image, but we will be releasing further images when the proprietary board level device drivers are released by the hardware teams. Pre-defined logon password for telnet and web browser sessions is allsats Image comes complete with a built in channel set for 28.2E, and a Favourites(TV) bouquet of FTA channels and those hard to scan BBC streams. Just select scan manually later in the setup wizard to keep, or over-write as required.]]>

How to: Flash TM800HD

Ensure the file is named like this >>> TM800_update.bin
Plug USB device into receiver
Turn on from rear
As soon as you see STARTING press stand by button many times until see MINIROOT
Wait until you see box IP in the front panel scrolling then press MENU button on the receiver
It will take about 2 minutes to download to receiver and will say SUCCESS and will reboot.
Turn the power off and remove your USB device
==============================
Ensure no hard drives are connected.
Turn power on, wait for receiver to boot and follow the onscreen wizard. (ignore WiFi setup for now)
Install default channel list when prompted
Turn off from rear for one minute
Turn on and wait for receiver to fully boot
Test all functions, test channels and motor function, test as many functions as you can
Connect external USB hard disk
Press USB button on remote, highlight your hard disk and press the RED button to format.
WAIT for formatting to complete. Depending on the size of your drive, and the USB connection, this could take quite a while.
Once the hard drive has finished formatting, turn off the receiver at the rear and turn back on, wait for receiver to fully boot
Setup your receivers WiFi connection (if WiFi is fitted) Your receiver should now be fully operational and stable. If any stage fails more than once, re download the image, format the USB device used to flash the receiver, and start again. This method has been tried and tested numerous times, and is the ONLY way recommended by Technomate themselfs. Once you have got to this stage, you can start installing plugins, channel lists etc, as any further issues will be down to incompatibility with the third party plugins or channel lists you are attempting to install]]>
