The OpenATV 4.0 images have been available for a while, and recently popping up in random places, is the vix4 (OpenVix Zeus) image, but untill now, bootloaders were unavailable for these images to work properly. We are just about to upload bootloaders that have been tested, and work, on both the OpenATV 4.0 image, and the OpenVix Zeus images.
Only use these bootloaders if you are intending on using one of these newer images, as you will not be able to boot into an existing PLi based, or Openvix3.0 image after flashing these, unless you reflash with an older bootloader.
As usual with this type of update, use at your own risk. We killed 2 receivers before finding this working software (which also brought them back to life)
Check the software tab above for the file
Heres the about screen from the latest unreleased openvix4 image, running on the TM-nano, so contrary to what some may be saying about killing your receiver by using it, its all scare tactics and should be taken with a pinch of salt. We found these with some very clever search terms, so they ARE online, probably for other makes of receiver supported by ViX as well. Apart from a new bootscreen, we havent yet found anything amazingly new, but, ViX have said that the main difference with ViX 4 is the way in which the images are built, not with the actual image itself.
The openvix4 images are out there, and untill there is an ‘official’ release, then they will be classed as beta, therefor ‘unsupported’ and some people will also say that using them will blow your receiver up and invalidate your cars insurance policy, but, neither of these claims are worth the paper that they are not written on
Overnight one of our automated search spiders came back with a very interesting link to a file, so, of course we just had to download it, and wil try it out later today
we wont post the file here, yet, but with some boolean googling you should be able to find it
vix 4 , openvix 4, open vix 4
A major problem has occured on ALL 4D images prior to Feb 2nd 2014. The URL used for the image to connect to the download server has changed, with no possible way of changing it back. While this does not affect the use of the image, or the way it functions with any manually installed plugins, you are now unable to download plugins from the images plugin server, unless you either update the plugin, or manually edit the files that control how the receiver connects to plugin sources, other ‘fixes’ may become available. We have been aware of this issue for a few days, but wanted to exhaust every option to resolve it before announcing it. Heres a tutorial for those who simply want to carry out the manual edits required
How to fix 4D plugin bug
New images available from the 4D team for the Technomate TM-Twin, TM-single, TM-2T & TM-nano OE range of receivers available from the Software tab at the top of the page. When a TM-nano-2T image comes available, we will add this to the Software archive too. As usual these images are that new that there is no ‘changelog’ available for them yet. Unavailable ANYWHERE else on the internet at the time of posting, as usual. Get them while theyre hot
Buy the Technomate TM-MINI for £69. Using non official 3rd party software, this opens up network connectivity for using as a client receiver, softcam options (including 198 BISS key entries) as well as officially supported multimedia playback and PVR capabilities
Only a few mm bigger than an iPod, and less than an inch thick, this is the Technomate TM-Mini. With full HD 1080p output, timeshift and trick PVR capabilities, play media files, browse youtube, and whispers of an IPTV update in the near future, this tiny receiver could be the thing to change what gets stuck to the back of your TV in bedrooms etc. It comes with 2 remote control handsets, one full size one, with a complete set of buttons for everything possible, and a ‘stubby’ remote, allowing all of the basic functions to be used. With an external IR sensor included in the box, this will be a completley invisible receiver once installed. More details shortly once we have had more of a play with it
New images released today for the TM600 (which will also possibly run on the TM500Super) and for the TM9100S (which may also run on the earlier model TM9100) have been uploaded today, however, upon inspecting these images, they are whats known as ‘SR’ or ‘trader’ images. If you flash these images onto your receiver, you will lose all FTP, telnet and http access to the receiver, you will have a limited set of plugins and will not be able to use things such as dreamboxedit for uploading your own channel lists.
We only make this file available in case you are already using the SR image and require the changed functionality that this image offers
New OpenPLi based images from the 4D team are being uploaded for ALL OE models
All available from the Software tab above, and as usual, available first @ technomatesoftware
Another Technomatesoftware first
A first look at the TM-NANO-2T from Technomate. A more compact version of the TM-2T. Software is available from the software tab above. Please DO NOT try and flash this software onto a TM-2T OE
