We’re back, with the tm-nano se

After a bit of a hectic christmas period, Technomate software is back posting again. Theres been loads of updates that should have been posted, and new softwares, and moans about teams forcing updates on people, and moans about things not working when they were promised to be fixed, but, I’ll be honest with you, I was busy skydiving or playing on Destiny on the Xbox One, and I let things slip a little bit. I’m sorry, and it wont happen again. Or not untill the UK skydiving season is fully underway 😉

So, skip all of the software updates that have been missed, for some teams, i could post HUNDREDS of posts about how many image changes there have been in the few weeks since the last post, but I wont. Instead, lets look at whats new NOW and coming soon.

Theres a new linux enigma2 receiver, the TM-Nano Se, cheaper than the clones, a sexy looking little beast with its brushed aluminium front, and less than £100 retail price. At the moment stock is VERY limited, but, if you really want one NOW you can get one from here .

If youd like the chance to get one for less than a fiver (thats £5) then you really need to head over to and keep your eyes peeled, as somebody WILL get the chance to own one for this daft amount.

Software updates have started again today, with the new TM-Nano Se being the first, and a few of the other tm-nano receivers also getting new PLi4 based images uploaded. The others will all follow over the next 48 hours, I promise.

More updates will be coming, as well as software updates, receiver reviews, and more.

For those of you who bothered to read this far, theres another 2 (yes TWO) Technomate linux receivers on the very near horizon. Details will be ‘coming soon’…..

More ViX images plugins dropped

From this weekend, ViX images prior to Apollo build 055 will no longer have any plugin feed support, as they are moving to a new server, and for some strange reason, decided not to keep the same details. The only fix is to reflash with an image newer than build 055, untill the next time they change things again.

ViX image plugin issues

For the last few days, users who have the ViX image installed on their receivers have been unable to access any of the plugins, and for a change, its not down to ViX forcing users to use the latest image. One of the servers that the image connects to for picons is unavailable (although at the ime of posting this, its back online), and this caused the entire plugin feeds system to crash.

It can be fixed, details can be found here

If you are using ANY ViX image prior to Apollo build 32, the only way to get the plugin feeds to work again is to reflash the receiver with the latest version (build 41 at the time of posting), its possible the ocram picon feed will be removed from build 42 onwards, which should stabilise the plugin feeds, untill the next time ViX decide the only fix is a complete reflash, which seems to be every 2-3 weeks for the last 7 or 8 months 😉

4D plugin fix, via your remote

The 4D plugin bug affects EVERY linux TM receiver with an image dated prior to 29/08/14, which means just about EVERY receiver out there. Now, to fix it, you can reflash and start all over again, you can manually fix it, as described in an earlier blog post, or, you can install a plugin and do it all through the remote control 🙂

Simply install the plugin from here 4D plugin fix via plugin and then go to the section on the plugin (on your receiver) titled ‘Technomate 4D fixes’ and download the one for your model of receiver

its as simple as that 🙂

All the images, all the models

All of the images, from all of the teams, for all of the receivers. Yep, thats right, we here at TMSW have been slacking a little bit lately, so, to make up for it, we tracked down, and made available images from the usual suspects, OpenViX and 4D, as well as images from OpenATV, and the few that are available from the HDFreaks. We have also ensured that they are available for every linux OE receiver, including the brand new TM-Nano 3T Combo.

All available via the Software tab above

4D do it again (break your image)

Once again, 4D have managed to break EVERY image on EVERY linux technomate (as well as cause issues on other network connected receivers) because of a simple oversight on their side of things (or the unwillingness to actually do this major step properly).

If your image is dated prior to 29-08-14, which it will be, then your plugin feeds no longer work, try it, youll get errors, no matter how hard you try. There are 2 ways to fix this. One way is to download a new image, reflash, and start from a fresh install. The other way, which allows you to keep all of your settings, skins and plugins, is to follow the simple tutorial here

I may get around to making an ipk this time around to be placed on a USB stick and will ‘fix’ this via the remote control.
